Dental Implants Look, Feel, and Function Like Natural Teeth

Lasting Results

With proper care, dental implants can last a lifetime. Using our advanced technology, Dr. Zboril can precisely plan your implant surgery and find the optimal location for your posts so they last for years to come.

Enhanced Appearance and Comfort

Implants act as artificial tooth roots, providing unparalleled support and stability for restorations. The posts become a part of your anatomy, ensuring comfortable and lifelike results.

Improved Oral Health

A missing tooth can cause a range of health issues, including shifting teeth and tissue loss in the jawbone. Implant-supported restorations replace the entire tooth, from root to crown, to improve and maintain your oral health.

What Are Dental Implants?

showing how a crown connects to a dental implant

Dental implants are long-term restorations that replace missing tooth roots with a titanium post. This implant can connect to an abutment that supports a restoration like a dental crown, bridge, or denture to replace missing teeth.

Not only can a restoration allow you to eat and speak with confidence, but the dental implant can keep your jaw from atrophying, a problem that occurs after tooth loss.

You may be a candidate for dental implants if you have:

  • Good overall health
  • Healthy gums
  • Enough bone to support the implant
  • A good oral hygiene routine

Dr. Zboril and his staff are simply the best! We moved to Victoria from Austin and were resigned to having to make the four hour trip back just to fing competent care. Boy were we wrong! We picked Dr. Zboril solely based on his 5-Star rating and he and his staff definitely deserve that rating. So friendly and attentive.

Dr. Zboril and his staff are exceptional in every aspect. I had a fear of dentists and did not want to go until I couldn’t stand the pain anymore. I was ashamed I let my dental care get as bad as it was and Dr. Zboril and his staff made me feel comfortable and safe and I never felt judged or ashamed.

Placing a Dental Implant

If you decide to move forward with the dental procedure at our office in Victoria, TX, you can expect these steps:
At Zboril Dental Center in Victoria, TX, our dentist sees and cares for you as a person, not a patient.
At Zboril Dental Center in Victoria, TX, our dentist sees and cares for you as a person, not a patient.

Anesthesia

At your first appointment, Dr. Zboril will use one of our anesthesia or sedation options to ensure your comfort for the duration of the procedure.

Implant Placement

Once you're comfortable, your dentist will make a small incision in your gums, place the dental implant at the site of the missing tooth, and suture your gums closed. It will take three to six months for the titanium post to fuse to the jawbone during a process called "osseointegration."

Abutment Placement

After osseointegration is complete, your dentist will place an abutment on the implant at a follow-up appointment. This abutment acts as a base for your restoration.

Restoration Placement

Your permanent crown, bridge, or denture can then be placed.
Once your treatment is complete, you may return home. Pain can be treated with over-the-counter medication, and swelling can be treated with a cool compress. Schedule regular checkups so Dr. Zboril can examine your gums and implant.

Caring for Your Implants JUST LIKE NATURAL TEETH

Once your dental treatment is complete, and your implant site has completely healed, your implant-supported crown, bridge, or denture will function just like your natural teeth. For the most part, you can brush and floss as you normally would.

Keeping your newly restored smile healthy should involve:

  • Daily brushing and flossing
  • Rinsing with an antibacterial mouthwash
  • Regular cleanings and exams at our Victoria, TX, office
  • A healthy lifestyle

With proper care, your restoration can last for several years and your dental implant can last a lifetime.

We Offer Solutions to Improve Your Implant Candidacy

The best way to find out if you are a good candidate for dental implants is to schedule an appointment with Dr. Zboril in Victoria, TX. He can use our advanced diagnostic technology to determine if there are any factors that could interfere with your treatment.

We provide treatment for many of the issues that could impact your candidacy. We also offer full mouth reconstruction.

Low Jawbone Density

Implants have such a high level of strength and stability because they fuse with surrounding bone tissue and become part of the jaw. If you do not have sufficient tissue in your jaw, Dr. Zboril can perform a bone graft to restore your eligibility for implants.

Unhealthy Gums

Healthy gums provide a strong foundation, so gum disease poses a serious threat to the stability of your restoration. We offer a variety of treatments for periodontal disease to improve your gum health before implant placement.

Teeth Clenching

Severe bruxism can put extreme pressure on implants and cause failure. Dr. Zboril can minimize the impact of clenching and grinding by pressure mapping your smile with T-Scan™ during treatment planning. We also offer oral appliances that can protect your restoration.

Other Concerns

Certain medical conditions, such as uncontrolled diabetes, and lifestyle factors, such as smoking, can also interfere with the success of your implants. Dr. Zboril will discuss your medical history with you before treatment to ensure there are no other potential risk factors.
