Dental Crowns

If you have suffered tooth damage, tooth loss, or advanced decay, we have a solution. Dr. Robert Zboril provides dental crowns to repair or replace compromised teeth.  Zboril Dental Center in Victoria, TX uses premium materials to provide crowns that are durable and look completely natural.

What Are Dental Crowns?

Dental crown
Crowns are protective caps that cover a compromised natural tooth or a dental implant. Our Victoria, TX, dentistry practice provides both high-grade ceramic and zirconia crowns. Your dentist, Robert Zboril, can provide a temporary crown while you wait for your permanent crown.

Crowns May Be the Answer When More Popular Solutions Are Not

/

Today, solutions like veneers and teeth whitening are practically household names, but they may not be right for you. If your tooth is severely misshapen, for example, a crown may be a better solution. Or if your tooth has deep intrinsic stains that whitening can't help, a crown can achieve an enhanced look. Dr. Zboril will only recommend the most effective and conservative solution to your needs.

Beyond Porcelain The Benefits of Ceramic and Zirconia

Dental crown creation

Our dentist places BruxZir® crowns, made from zirconia, and Empress® crowns, made from glass ceramic. For many years, porcelain crowns have been the most common solution for those who want durability and a natural appearance, but these premium materials surpass porcelain in both respects.

In fact, zirconia is the strongest material used in restorative dentistry. It can also be made to look incredibly realistic.

Meanwhile, Empress crowns can be made to look indistinguishable from natural teeth, and are far stronger than porcelain. However, if you prefer porcelain, we can use that material. Our dentist is happy to help determine which type of crown best suits your needs and goals when you visit our Victoria dentistry practice.

A Natural-Looking and Long-Lasting Solution

Dr. Zboril can restore functionality to your teeth and boost your confidence with a natural-looking, durable dental crown. If you are suffering with a compromised tooth, visit our Victoria office. From your initial consultation to your temporary crown and your permanent restoration, you can expect excellent care every step of the way.

How Dental Crowns Are Placed

You're a partner at our office. Under our care, we will make sure you know what to expect every step of the way. Although every treatment plan is different, these are the general steps you can expect your treatment to follow:
From protection after a root canal to brightening up your smile, dental crowns have a wide range of uses.
From protection after a root canal to brightening up your smile, dental crowns have a wide range of uses.

Treatment & Preparation

Dr. Zboril will first provide any treatment your tooth needs, such as a root canal, removal of a large old filling, or addressing tissue damage. Issues affecting the gums will also be treated before you receive a crown. Next, the tooth will be shaped to create a suitable base for the dental crown, which involves further removal of dental tissue.

Measurements

We use advanced dental technology, like our iTero 3-D scanner, for precise measurements. This allows us to make crowns that truly blend in with the rest of your smile and fit comfortably. These digital impressions eliminate the need for the sticky, messy dental putty used in the past.

Fabrication

Your crown can be created in-office within two to three weeks using our fastmill.io™ technology, or in a trusted lab in about two to three weeks. We perform hand-finishing for a precise final touch.

Temporary Crown

While you are waiting for your permanent crown to be finished, we will provide a temporary crown to protect your tooth and maintain the comfort and function of your bite.

Placing Your Permanent Crown

It's time for your final appointment.

You'll visit our dentistry practice, where we'll securely place your beautiful zirconia or glass ceramic crown.

If you are replacing a lost tooth with a dental implant-supported crown, you will need to wait three to six months after implant placement surgery before you can receive your permanent crown. During that time, the implant will become fused to the jawbone. We can provide a temporary crown to wear while you heal.

A Victoria Patient's Experience At Zboril Dental Center

"Being 68 I have been to a lot [of] dentist[s]...I have to say I have never been to a dentist like Dr. Zboril. He and his entire staff are amazingly coordinated and pleasant to be around. Dr. Zboril does not push anything on his patients. He is informative when speaking of options. His statement to me was that he works by my timing and my budget. I would advise anyone to go to him."
